3 things to consider before going for a career change when you have no idea

You are feeling like a prisoner not really, but that's the feeling you have inside your mind despite having a well-paying job that offers everything. Still, you don't find any reason to love however you are continuing it as there is no other option available and the secret wish of staying away from the job is becoming more day by day. You are not alone, and this is a story of almost 80 percent of people who are not happy in their career and eagerly looking for a change. Sometimes people don't have any clue during their initial period of career but later discover a new interest that they want to pursue and that can be anything. From flexible hour to place or in short to make more money than the current job but a risky approach though initially however worth.

Evaluate the risk and growth

Maybe you inspire from the quote follow your passion and live the life in fullest, but this is not enough to make a fresh restart on life without evaluating. You must take appropriate steps before quitting and calculate your ability how much you can do without getting any success and in case failure happen, how to return safely. Everything matters before you start a new career as your wish because you are stepping out from the comfort zone and there is no chance of ignoring something that you need to re-evaluate. It is not necessary that whatever you are going to do is already big or maybe no one yet to make it successful but that's not a problem. In fact, the chances of getting success are more if still no one able to make it big.

There are numerous reasons for dissatisfaction, and it's not always about the job because sometimes we need to find that why it is no more interesting while this was not a problem before some years. Maybe the work is no more interesting, and without quitting, try to find, if you can change it or sometimes working with wrong people create the distraction or company culture that you don't like. If these are the reasons then can be fixed without changing or quitting and also will help to bring back the same refreshment in life again.



Find your interest and talent

The most important things to do if you decide to quit and the mentioned above are not the reasons for your distraction- it's time to check your area of expertise and interest to invest the time to develop. Often people misunderstood that both interest and talent are the same whereas, in reality, these are the two parts of the same coin. Some people have one interest but are expert in a different domain, and a smart person can mix it up to make something big and trust me there is always a way where you can combine both in case two are different. For example, you may want to be a painter and unfortunately, have no idea on it, but at the same time, you are excellent in presentation. Though both are different, an intelligent person will find a way to combine that will help to grow. If h/she start learning the basics of art, it will not difficult to become a successful art dealer, and here presentation skill will help.  Some people leave their high paying corporate jobs to work for a startup because of the growth potential that they will never achieve in a big MNCs. It's because they love the work and have the skills to grow and have enough courage and mindset to take risks.

Find people not jobs

Often people fail to understand while changing the career there is a difference between following the passion and doing another job, and they fall for the later instead of former. If you decide to quit, better start connecting with people in the domain you want to shift and improve the relationship with them for a significant time. Remember, without any communication and contacts it's impossible to achieve something; no matter whether you want to pursue the career in a creative field or start the journey of entrepreneurship. A good relationship with industry veterans is worth otherwise, you will end up becoming nobody.



Upgrade/Learn

If you are changing to a different domain, it's better to start learning and implement it slowly before jumping for a big. Though this will not be a problem if you are looking for a change in the same domain, however, upgrading the knowledge is still required.  Whether you are new or a veteran, taking a class will help you to know the ongoing situation, trend, and technologies that will assist you in the future. One of the best habits to make yourself upgraded and help to gain knowledge is reading on a regular basis. No matter how busy you are in life, give at last half an hour for reading, and here I am saying about books.



Finally, if you decide to do something then act on it. By sitting and blaming the luck will never help but will make you just another random person without any aim and ambition. Remember, successful people never complain no matter how hard the situation is.
