Effective creative advertising strategies are developed using business basics. Successful advertisers target a specific market, analyze their competition, position their product or service in the marketplace and create a budget for advertising. They measure the results of their advertising strategy on an ongoing basis.

Cable TV
Cable TV advertising allows access to specialized target markets. Advertisers can select an audience by neighborhood and demographics by selecting specific geographic areas and TV shows. The advertiser gets the message directly to the target market at a lower rate than with network TV advertising. Local cable companies are capable of producing commercials and working within advertisers' budgets.

Sponsored Website Links
Sponsored website links are an advertising product offered by search engines. They are keyword-driven ads that appear next to search results, designed to drive traffic to the advertisers website. The website links also appear on pages with content related to keywords. Advertisers set their own keywords. Google and Bing both offer website link ads where the advertiser pays only when a potential customer clicks the ad. The advertiser sets the amount they are willing to pay per click. The amount paid per click determines the position in which the ad appears on the search result page.

Floor Graphics
Floor graphics are a new technique in point-of-sale advertising. Retailers use floor graphics to direct their customers to specific products or areas with well-crafted images and copy writing. Images may be printed to adhesive film that is easy to remove or on floor tiles that are installed on a temporary basis.

Interesting Character
An interesting character can be invented for an advertising campaign. The character could be a cartoon character or played by an actor. The invented character has a strong, often unusual personality and is engaging. They are used to grab attention and deliver a sales message. The character may be used in a variety of media such as print, direct mail and broadcast. Interesting characters are distinct from brand characters. Where interesting characters are designed to make an immediate impact, brand characters represent the personality of the brand.

Direct Response Offers
Make your audience an enticing offer and tell them what to do to get it. The offer could be delivered via a range of media, from newspaper advertising, direct mail to broadcast. A strong offer with a clear benefit for the customer will get the best response. The offer should be prominent in the ad. The advertisement should include a call to action, ideally with several ways to respond, such as email and an 800 phone number.
