Challenges That Managers Face

Managers are people who combine different types of resources and coordinate them efficiently and effectively to achieve goals set by their organizations. The term ?efficient? in the aspect of management means the managers employ the resources wisely and cost-effectively, whereas the term ?effective? means the managers make the right decision and strive hard to achieve the objectives by performing planning, organizing, leading and controlling functions. These four functions are extremely important and must be coordinated to ensure the management operates as a whole.

According to Johnson, providing inspiration as well as leadership is the primitive role a manager should play in today?s modern globalization. The key point to inspire the team is to protect the team's welfare in order to build up their confidence towards the manager. Setting up a good role and example in an organization faced with fierce competition is often seen as a difficult task for most managers.

Issues regarding punctuality, incompetence and fraud often emerge in most established corporations, thus drastic steps should be taken to resolve the problems. Of course, when the managers appoint the team to do certain tasks, they must have confidence with the capability of the team in working out the tasks given. Once the confidence towards managers has been boosted up, the entire team would definitely have good impressions on the leaders and are inspired by them.

Effective communication has been identified as one of the variables in determining the ability of organisations to achieve their goals. The working population is very aware of the importance of interpersonal communication skills which is the central of the organisational hub, especially to the role of the managers. Effective transmission of information between managers and staffs is necessary to ensure that there is understanding as communication is not a one-sided activity.
