How to evaluate paid sourcing tools and services

The competition for top talent continues to escalate, and it's easy for us to blame the lack of the latest, greatest sourcing resources for our inability to surface talent. However, many of the expensive resources are not necessarily the answer to source top talent. That is why choosing which resource to utilize holds the key to your success. It's important to evaluate sourcing resources throughout your entire career. Certain resources may become comfortable or familiar, but that doesn't ensure that they're the most effective.

Evaluate your current or new resources on four criteria. Number one, their search capabilities. Number two, the product stability. Number three, the customer support. And of course number four, the results you get. Let's start out with search capabilities. When you are searching for a candidate, what type of candidates turn up? What type of contact information is included in your search results? And how effective are the filters? You need to list the pros and cons of complicated as well as simple searches.
