Beximco tops DSE turnover chart

Beximco Limited topped the Dhaka stocks' turnover chart on Thursday while Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) was the most traded issue on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on the day featured a turnover of above Tk 10.40 billion, of which 30.40 per cent came from the transactions of top 10 turnover leaders.

Of the 10 turnover leaders, the market prices of eight companies rose marginally while the price of two other companies declined marginally.

Beximco topped the day's turnover chart featuring a turnover of Tk 535.80 million and captured 5.1 per cent of the total market turnover. The share trading of the company closed at Tk 36.10 which was 0.56 per cent higher than the price of the previous session.

The company was followed by City Bank, Beximco Pharmaceuticals and AB Bank, among others.

The turnover of City Bank stood at above Tk 370 million which was 3.6 per cent of the turnover witnessed by the Dhaka bourse on the day. The company's shares were traded at prices ranging from Tk 38.20 to Tk 39.40 and closed at Tk 39. The share price rose 0.26 per cent compared to the previous session.

Beximco Pharmaceuticals also captured 3.6 per cent of the market turnover by registering a turnover of Tk 369.50 million. The company's market price declined 0.18 or Tk 0.2 to close at Tk 107.90.

The market price of AB Bank declined 1.84 per cent and share trading closed at Tk 26.70. The company posted a turnover of Tk 302.10 million which was 2.9 per cent of the turnover witnessed by the premier bourse DSE.

National Bank posted a turnover of Tk 300.60 million and captured 2.9 per cent of the market turnover. At the end of Thursday's trading session, the company's market price remained unchanged and closed at Tk 15.80.

LankaBangla Finance contributed 2.8 per cent to the market turnover by featuring a figure of Tk 295.80 million. The company's market price rose 1.30 per cent to close at Tk 62.10.

C & A Textile posted a turnover of Tk 295.70 million and captured 2.8 per cent of the turnover registered by the premier bourse.

RSRM Steel contributed 2.8 per cent to the market turnover with its own turnover of Tk 290.70 million.

The turnover of Grameenphone stood at Tk 201.90 million which was 1.9 per cent of the total market turnover.

One Bank featured a turnover of Tk 198.10 million which was 1.9 per cent of the turnover registered by the premier bourse.

At the CSE, EBL proved to be the most-traded issue with the day's highest Tk 66 million in individual turnover.
