We are always looking for the right offshore candidates with relevant experience.

If you are interested in working on one of our rigs, you can search all vacancies or read more about our company.

How can I find out which position is right for me?
Before you apply for a position, you should know what you want out of your career. Working on a rig means you should consider whether hands-on practical work offshore in a rotational position is right for you.

Make sure you apply for the job that fits your skills and interests – it's better to send one application for the right position than ten applications for the wrong ones.
If you aren't sure which positions would best match your background, you should check out our job wizard.

Experience matters
Maersk Drilling values people with all types of trade and mechanical engineering qualifications. But offshore positions are often quickly filled by applicants with previous experience working on a rig.

If you have no previous experience then you can demonstrate your commitment to offshore work by applying for a roustabout position.
Once you know about daily life on a rig, you'll be in a better position to be our next driller.

How do I get offshore experience when no one will hire me without offshore experience?

Since entry level positions are very competitive, our recruiters are often asked this question.
If you have a trade background but no offshore experience, we recommend you first work for a service company, and then after gaining some experience, you will be more likely to be hired for a permanent rotational position with Maersk Drilling.

What is a service company?
Rigs have many different types of technical equipment needing maintenance and repair. Some of the maintenance is carried out by Maersk Drilling employees, but if we can't fix the problem, the offshore service provider will.

You can find an overview of the different equipment and manufacturers on all Maersk Drilling rigs by checking out our fleet stats. Simply find the manufacturer of the equipment and apply directly to those companies within your trade. You will quickly gain very relevant offshore experience flying out to rigs around the world repairing equipment.

Leverage your education and experience?
If you've recently completed a degree in engineering, or if you have leadership experience, then you may be a good fit for one of our acceleration programmes. Successful completion of the program will secure you a challenging position on or offshore.

Before you apply, make sure you know which programme fits your experience and interests. You can find more information here.

What else can I do to help my chances when applying for a job?
Only apply for relevant positions – remember that it doesn't increase your chances to apply for every available open position.
Provide a CV clearly stating your contact details, certifications and rig experience, and a list of past positions, with company names, dates, and detailed descriptions of what you did.

If you get an interview, come prepared!
Do some research into the position and company, to ensure you understand Maersk Drilling as a company, your desired career path, and how this position you are applying to fits in
Research standard job interview questions, such as why you want to work for Maersk Drilling, and what your strengths and weaknesses are

Prepare any questions you'd like to ask us
Be able to describe yourself – an interview is about getting to know each other!
