High potentials look for in employers

What high potentials look for in a company may surprise you. Sure, they look for the basics: competitive salary, great benefits, and a strong reputation in the market. But what they really look for goes beyond the basics. Bottom line, high potentials are looking for strong culture and values, a compelling vision and mission, growth and development opportunities, and great leadership. First, high potentials want to join a company whose culture and values are compelling to them. Think about how you would describe your culture.

Would you say innovative, collaborative, driven? When people walk in the door, do they think, "Wow, I can tell that this is a great place to work." It doesn't mean you have to offer free lunch or have a foosball table. But think about the vibe of the office. Are people engaged, excited, and happy? To highlight your culture to high potentials, make sure your website and social media reference it. Be prepared to explain how your culture make you unique. Ask interviewers to talk about what they enjoy most.
