Identify your growth optimization key
- So how do you get started in building your growth system? Well, I have to tell you that we've come to the philosophical point of this program. Before we can really dive into what it is you're going to do, I want to spend a little time talking about why it is that you're going to do that. And here's what I mean. There's a whole lot of language out there and books and courses and things talking about discovering your why and your purpose. And I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about something that I find a very necessary and practical step in building a growth system.
You have to understand why you want growth. Growth for growth's sake or growth because that's what you believe you do to build a business is a sure way to get off course or, like many of the businesses that I have worked with over the years, get stuck. Because you're trying to serve different objectives with your growth, or maybe none at all. And so the key here is that we have to lock down on what I've started calling your growth optimization key.
