Developing personal style
Part of our personal brand is having a personal style. Organizations can base style through things like logos, marketing collateral and communications. For personal branding, style may not require you to have your own logo, but it may include the image you present online as well as offline like your appearance and communications. Let's start first with communication. Jason wants to communicate that he is an expert in solar and wind power manufacturing and design. He has a title at KinetEco of Principal Design Engineer. On his personal website, he uses the title Solar and Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing Design Expert to stylize and better explain what he does specifically.
He started defining his style by clearly communicating his title, then his expertise. How you describe what you do is part of your personal brand style. Jason's LinkedIn page currently reads, Principal design engineer, responsible for oversight of solar and wind power equipment manufacturing for an international, publicly-traded alternative energy company.
