Identify what isn't working

Feedback is supposed to be a gift, but it never feels that way when you're on the receiving end. Why does feedback always seem to be negative? Because good feedback, positive feedback, often comes in the form of goals achieved, or a bonus, or a promotion. When attempting to identify what isn't working in your diversity recruiting process, obtaining feedback from your employees can help you pinpoint areas for improvement and suggestions about the process. After all, each employee went through your recruitment process in order to be hired.

But if you've ever watched a game show and screamed at the TV as someone changed a correct answer to a wrong one, that's what it's like watching someone make changes in their diversity program without first pinpointing what the issues are and where those changes should occur. In the Exercise Files, you can find the Benchmarking Worksheet we used to review your recruiting process. Whether you use that assessment as a quick check or incorporate it organization-wide as a score card.
