Post by: mst15-8466 on October 05, 2018, 09:13:23 PM
1.Go to the video you want to download. In a web browser, go to youtube.com/ and locate the YouTube video you want to download. You can start playing the video to ensure it's the correct video.
-Use the search bar at the top to search for the video if you are having trouble locating the video.
2.Copy the video's URL. Click and drag across the address of the video at the top of your browser address bar to highlight it, then press Ctrl+C on Windows or ⌘ Command+C on a Mac. This copies the video URL.
3.Open VLC. It's the app with the icon of an orange traffic cone.
-If you don't have it already, you can download VLC for free at videolan.org. VLC is an open-source video player with a lot of
beneficial features for playing all kinds of files.[2]
4.Open a new Network stream. Network streams allow you to play content from your web browser in VLC:
-Windows — Click Media, then click Open Network Stream....
-Mac — Click File, then click Open Network.
5.Paste the YouTube video's URL into the field. Click the "Please enter a network URL" text box, then press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Command+V (Mac). You should see the YouTube video's address appear in the text box.
Make sure the entire URL got copied.
6.Play the video. At the bottom of the window, click either Play (Windows) or Open (Mac). This will open the YouTube video in VLC.
7.View the video's codec information. To do so:
-Windows — Click Tools, then click Codec Information.
-Mac — Click Window, then click Media Information.
8.Copy the "Location" field. At the bottom of the window, you'll see a long address that you'll need to copy:
-Windows — Right-click the "Location" text field, click Select All, and then right-click it again and click Copy.
-Mac — Right-click (or Control-click) the "Location" text field and click Open URL.
9.Open the video in your browser. Open a new browser tab and paste the copied URL, then press ↵ Enter. This will load the video directly in your browser.
-You can skip this step if you're on a Mac and you selected Open URL in the previous step.
10.Download the video. Right-click the video in your browser, then click Save video as in the resulting drop-down menu. The video will begin downloading onto your computer as an MP4 file with the name "videoplayback".
-Depending on your browser's settings, you may first need to select a save location and enter a name for your file before it will
    download.
