With advancement of knowledge, information and technology, new trends are emerging in employees. The trends can be divided into three major parts: career path, motivation factor, work time. In few more years these new trends will become very common globally. So what's this all about? Let's get into each of the three...

Up until now the career paths has been pretty straight forward. You pick a job and that's it for you. You get promotion but being within same type of career line. For example: If anyone start his career as administrative assistant, he would go administrative officer, Manager, Director and so on but his main field would still be administration. This trend is gradually getting changed as we are having information boom and getting more opportunities to learn a lot of other skills. If you notice it carefully skills are what opens up career paths for you. Therefore, with each new skills you gain you are opening up new possibilities for your career path. So how exactly it will happen? Let's start the story differently now. Someone starts his career as an office executive, while he is still doing his job as office executive, he gains some skill with web development, then may pick some skills with social media marketing, then may pick some skills with software work flow. So this guy now can handle administrative jobs, can work for web development of the company, can perform marketing through social network for the company and can contribute in automation of the company through software planning. See where it's going? Well this is pretty much happening already especially among the young employees. So what? The guy can do so much for a company now but if the company keep him in single track, and evaluate him on that single skill level point of view, that would be very discouraging for him to continue his work in that company. With each new skill he would now expect a dynamic career track and a dynamic evaluation which would focus on all his skill level. So it would require for the organization to offer him a dynamic career prospect considering all his skills and contributing area. Having dynamic employees would benefit the company but now the company would require new methods of judging a candidate for recruitment focusing on skill level, not just on academic degree.

Motivation factor will also get influenced by this change. An employee will no longer be satisfied only with his salary. He would require a lot more than that. Whether the employee is getting evaluated by all his skills or not, whether the company is offering him a dynamic career path or not, whether he is getting more learning opportunities or not, whether his is getting opportunity to take decision or not, these will all be important factors for the employee to be motivated.

Another major change in the trend would be the work time. Employees will have so many things to offer the organization that it will not be possible for them to work remaining inside a fixed time pattern. They will love to work for the organization but would also want to have balance in their life. Therefore, they would ask for flexibility with the working time so that they can independently organize their works and life events. This trend may also promote freelancing over a fixed job greatly.

As conclusion, we may say that companies and organizations need to act right now and start their planning accordingly so that they can modify their systems in line with the change in trend that is about to come which would be a must to sustain in future.
