Preparing for new employees

Over the next few videos, we're gonna look at tips and ideas for every stage of the onboarding process. We'll start in this video with stage 1, the Prehire stage. Onboarding really starts the moment an employee accepts the job offer. There's a lot to do to make sure everything goes smoothly once they arrived for their first day. Preparation can mean the difference between a poor first impression and a first impression that makes new hires feel welcome and excited about their new job. Preparing for a new hire involves New hire communication, Assignments you can ask your new hire to complete, and behind the scenes activities to prepare for their arrival.

Let's stare with new hire communication. There are two main goals here. You want to use your time efficiently so new hires don't spend most of their first day filling out endless paperwork. You also wanna get your new hire excited about their new job. One tip is to develop a standard pre-hire package you can send new hires once they accept a job offer. Here are a few things you might want to include.
