Not everyone is trained in the same method. While an auditory or visual learner may be able to master skills by watching a trainer perform a task, a kin aesthetic learner will perform better if they do those themselves. Getting accustomed with hands-on training can be beneficial to all types of learners as they will get the opportunity for different learning styles by observing as well as performing.

Currently all the major organisations are implementing the idea of providing hands-on training to the fresher candidates. By incorporating hands-on training activities into your company training programme it will lead to further more retention and better understanding for the freshers.

How this works?

This way by hands on training can be fruitful for a real-world experience and learning knowledge from a mentor and it can go a long way since it is the process of learning by doing. More effectively, hands-on activities should, however, imitate a real-world setting as much as possible. Learning endeavours that function perfectly in a live training environment can include mock tasks or replica, role-playing, problem-solving tasks and software training programmes. Candidates who get trained in a hands-on setting generally learn from a mentor to guide with real-world experience and facts and help them accomplishing a task in case of any difficulty. This expert guidance offers them performing any assignment accurately and carefully which is very important in the workplace.

Benefits:

Development of Critical Thinking Skills

A Candidate's critical thinking ability develops through a hands-on learning programme. Due to students' strive for receiving the outcome they have to make decisions on their next approach and hence the critical thinking skill increases and gets better. There is no longer any need of depending upon memorising and paying attention as they take part in a lecture setting. The critical thinking skills stay long as opposed to materialistic learning that is merely remembered for a test and also we often tend to forget most of those materialistic learning after the use of it is over. Critical thinking skills are extremely significant for working in any professional setting as the method of handling a task in a certain circumstance cannot be learned from a book.

Improvement of Problem Solving Skills

Hands-on training helps candidates to face challenges and difficulties that they might come across on the job. This way it becomes easier then working through these circumstances in a secure training environment—improving their problem-solving skills without any risk involved. Implementing hands-on problem-solving tasks into a live training programme also allows learners to ask for guidance from the mentor and offers with dignity to additionally develop problem-solving expertise. The candidates will, however, be better prepared to tackle problems once training is complete.

Inspired Learning is an Engaging Environment

When candidates are given the opportunity to be trained in a realistic hands-on setting, they remain mostly engaged, inspired and want to learn as much as possible. The learner's craving for knowledge and understanding the task increases and they consider listening and paying attention when they are given a real or life like job to perform. Also, the candidates become more empowered through their learning and experiencing the situations on their own.

However, we need consistent and creative hands-on training ideas to reach and support fresh candidates interested in taking part in performing more challenging tasks, and instructors willing and equipped to go the extra mile to encourage the upcoming generation of freshers.
